  • MHC-IT - Jessica

Yung Pueblo, a famous mental health writer and speaker says, "Personal transformation is not easy. Healing yourself takes time. Letting go can sometimes feel overwhelming. Building new habits can seem like an uphill battle. Even with all of these challenges inner-work is worth it. This active form of self-love can radically change your life." Growth isn't just about being in full bloom; it's the process by which you get there... and how you continue to thrive after all the messiness from that growth. But often, we can't do this alone or without the right tools, support, and encouragement. That's what Jessica is here to help with.

Jessica specializes in treating individuals and families who have suffered from many challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma and/or neglect, and self-esteem issues, just to name a few. Jessica’s experiences working in Child Advocacy Centers, as an Intensive In-Home Family Intervention Specialist, and in other outpatient counseling centers has prepared her for and fostered her love for working with children, adolescents, families, and adults who experienced childhood trauma, neglect, and/or maltreatment. Jessica has knowledge of the systems that encompass individual’s and families lives and has previously provided guidance, case management, and advocacy services for her clients outside of standard office settings.

Jessica is currently working toward her clinical license with the state of Florida and the national certification for Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Jessica also uses elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, Trauma Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to design the perfect treatment plan for her current and previous clients.

Unfortunately, "one size fits all" doesn't apply to therapy, and not every therapist is a perfect match. Jessica understands that therapy can be a vulnerable experience and works hard to be the supportive therapist she would also want herself and her loved ones to have. It’s important for Jessica to have open communication and build strong and adequate rapport with her clients before diving into heavy topics. See if Jessica would be a good fit for you and/or your family!

  • EdS, NCSP Psychologist- Taylor

As parents/guardians, we want to see our children succeed, no matter what it takes. When our  children struggle, we struggle as well. These struggles can lead to frustration, especially when we are not able to pinpoint the root cause. Too often, when children present with complex behaviors, and/or varying levels of abilities/intellect, they are mis-understood, or even mis-diagnosed. If you are feeling lost as a parent, are experiencing challenges navigating the school system, or question the narrative regarding your child, please know you are not alone. I am here to help.

Taylor Newman is a nationally certified school psychologist, holding both a private practice and lifetime educators license in the state of Wisconsin. She is trained to provide psychological evaluations to a wide range of individuals (early childhood to young adults), including assessment of intellectual ability, academic abilities, attention/executive functioning, social emotional development, and autism. In addition, her training and experiences allow her to provide counseling services to individuals coping with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, suicide ideation, ADHD, life stressors, and relationship struggles (including LGBTQ+).

Taylor completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then attended Loyola University in Chicago, where she received a Masters degree in Educational Psychology, followed by an Educational Specialist degree in the field of School Psychology. With more than ten years of leadership in the education system, and expansive knowledge of educational law (IDEA, Section 504), Taylor is eager and well positioned to provide services for all students and their families.
